So, the time for a walking tour in Greece is during the months either side of peak summer or, even better, in spring (March to May) and autumn (late-September-November) when the weather is most comfortable and there are fewer visitors. Winter is also a good time of the year for walking tours in cities like Athens and Thessaloniki.
What is the best time of day for a walking tour in Greece?
In summer, make sure to start your walking tour in the morning or early evening, to avoid the midday heat. In spring and autumn, you can be more flexible with your start time, although be aware that it can still be hot. Make sure to wear a hat and sunscreen and carry a water bottle.

Is Greece a safe country to walk in?
Greece is generally a safe and welcoming country for travellers, but it's always wise to be cautious, especially in crowded tourist areas. Keep your belongings secure and avoid displaying valuables. The emergency number for all services, including medical emergencies, is 112. Athens has many hospitals and health clinics providing comprehensive medical services. Pharmacies are widely available and can offer over-the-counter medications as well as prescription drugs. Tap water is safe to drink, although bottled water is preferable, and food safety standards are high, making it safe to enjoy local cuisine.
